So, you wanna buy some BOFA Coin? Well, this article will give you a step by step run down of how exactly to get your hands on this sweet coin.
The first thing to do is to create a wallet so that you will be able to transfer the Ethereum from whichever site you bought it on and swap it for BOFA coin. For this we will use the MetaMask extension for Google Chrome.
To install this extension to your chrome browser, you need to navigate to the Chrome Web Store. Simply type that into your chrome search bar and it should be the first result.
Once you are in the store, search for MetaMask, it should be the first result.
Once you have it, you will need to go through the account setup if you do not have an account already. Once you have an account, you should be up and ready.
As an extra step, you can pin the MetaMask extension to your browser so you can quickly access it. To do this, click on the extension button at the top right of your browser.
It will pull up all of your extensions, go ahead and click on the pin button to the right of the MetaMask extensions.
Now you can have easy access to it! Now we will get ahold of some Ethereum.
Currently, the only way to get BOFA Coin is to swap Ethereum for it. This means you have to buy some at one of the several website/apps that allow the purchase of Ethereum. For this example we will use Coinbase. So travel to their website here, if you want to follow along. You can find the sign up in the image below.
Once you are on their website, create an account if you don't have one already. Once you have logged in or created your account you should navigate to the trade section of the website. You can find this on the left side of the
screen, like in the image below.
Once you are on the trade page, locate the Ethereum crypto and click buy.
This will bring up the purchase menu. Here you can select how much you want to purchase of Ethereum and where the money will be pulled from. Go ahead and select how much you want to purchase and then make sure you have a payment method setup to be able make the purchase. Once your are certain you how much you want to spend, make the purchase.
Now you own a bit of Ethereum! Now we have to get the Ethereum to your wallet.
Now that you have some Ethereum and a MetaMask wallet you can now transfer the Ethereum to that wallet, so we can swap it to BOFA coin.
If you are following this so far, you should still be on Coinbase. On the left side find the Portfolio tab and click it.
Once you do that, it will bring you to your Portfolio and at the bottom your should see a section titled "Your Assets". Here you will see all of your owned assets, which should now include the new Ethereum. Go ahead and click on it.
To transfer this to your MetaMask wallet, you need to find the Send/Receive button at the top right of the page.
This will bring up the transfer menu. Here you will be able to input your wallet address and enter how much how want to transfer. Firstly we need to get your wallet address so that it will be sent to the right location. If you followed this guide so far, you should have the MetaMask extension added to your browser and pinned. Go ahead and click it to bring up the menu, you might have to enter in your password to get in.
Once it is open, at the top you should near the top it will have your Account and underneath it will be 0x followed by some numbers. This is your wallet address. Click on it to copy it to your clipboard, then paste it into the transfer menu we opened on Coinbase and enter in the amount you want to transfer to your wallet.
You have to account for a transfer fee that will vary depending on the amount you are trying to send. So you will not be able to transfer your full amount. Simply lower the amount until you can transfer it.
Once this is done you are ready to transfer the Ethereum to your wallet. Go ahead and click continue and transfer it.
If everything went well, the Ethereum should now be in your MetaMask wallet. To check, pull up the extension we installed and check the balance. You should see the transferred amount similar to the image below.
Now that you have the Ethereum in a wallet, we can now swap it for BOFA coin. Go to the Uniswap website, located here.
Once you are on the website, it should have Ethereum loaded as your transfer currency. Below it will be a button to select a coin to transfer it to. Click on it and it should bring this menu up.
At the top will be a search bar that we will use to find the BOFA coin. Copy and paste this address into the search bar, without the quotes. "0x875e66c37785d654d248bb16c09807194ae994c5"
Now click on the BOFA coin to make it the desired coin.
Your Uniswap should now look like this.
Now we need to connect your wallet so you can transfer. Click on the Connect Wallet button to bring up a list of wallets you can use, and click on MetaMask.
Go ahead and follow the process to connect your wallet. Once that is done you should have this.
Enter in the amount of Ethereum you want to transfer into BOFA coin.
You have to account for a transfer fee that will vary depending on the amount you are trying to send. So you will not be able to transfer your full amount. Simply lower the amount until you can transfer it.
Once you have entered in the amount you can go ahead and click the transfer button to initiate the transfer. This might take a minute or two while it does this.
To check and see if it went through open up the MetaMask Extension, find the activity tab at the bottom, click it, and then click on the most recent transaction to see if it has completed.
To see your exact balance of BOFA coin, you can open up the MetaMask extension again and this time click on the assets button to see what is in your wallet. Depending on if this is your first time doing this or not, your assets may have more than just Ethereum and BOFA coin.
Click Import Tokens
Then click Custom Token at the top and enter: 0x875e66c37785d654d248bb16c09807194ae994c5 into the Token Contract Address Field
